Biography
After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, he lived for a long period in New York where he worked on a personal research in both painting and sculpture. He exhibits in private galleries and public spaces. Since 2001 he has resided permanently in Rome.
His work focuses on the human dimension in contemporary society. In both sculpture and painting, figures are represented in urban places or in more abstract and rarefied spaces, with the human form interacting with its surroundings. After returning to Italy, nature becomes a central theme, and with his work he represents the concepts of human relationship and connection with nature in its many forms.
The works presented explore the union between human beings and nature, a reconnection for a just coexistence.
With her works Marzia Gandini gives body to her vision and emotions through her figures and landscapes, creating a continuous interchange between perception and feelings. Her works are perhaps powerful but at the same time intangible. Translated into painting through sometimes muted, sometimes incisive colors, or captured in sculpture through the body language of the figures, her work opens a window to the soul.
